RIIS Wins STTR R&D Contract with US Air Force to Improve Interoperability for Medical Information

RIIS has partnered with Alabama State University (ASU) to win a Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) Phase I contract with the US Air Force (USAF). This is an exciting win for RIIS because it combines our Data Science capabilities with ASU medical information data science capabilities to improve medical record accessibility and interoperability for in our product called Service Interoperability for Medical Information (SIMI).

SIMI proprietary technology finds and organizes all medical records together in a way that can be best used by the treating physician both in optimizing medical readiness as well as treating during deployment. SIMI uses the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) to create a backbone for predicting where care was provided and where records may be located. It then uses health assessments, scanned documents and interactive questions to identify where medical documents should be located.
